Counselor, New Mexico
Yesterday, John picked Shawn and Laura up from the airport in Albuquerque. They arrived here in the evening. We all sat outside and watched the sunset and watched the bats flying around. They are much smaller than the ones I saw in India! These are only about as big as your hand.Shawn and Laura are in their twenties and are very nice. I like them. This morning, Pat had to go to Navajo City to work in the restaurant, so I had to show them how to water the garden, the greenhouse, and how to clean the corrals. Then Pat wanted us to tie up the horses, groom them, and clean their feet! OMG. We did it with most of the horses, but Chaco wasn't too happy and ran me ragged, and we couldn't even catch Cisco. But, it was interesting!
This afternoon when Pat returned, we all sat in the kitchen to have a "jelly donut conference." We had no jelly donuts, but the bread that Shawn made by hand was absolutely awesome. I couldn't stop eating it! It wasn't quite chocolate, but it was close! Then we all listed our goals while we were here, and Pat wrote them down. It was interesting the varied goals that everyone had in mind. Pat then wound it all up intertwining them with astrology or Chinese elements: metal, water, earth, wood, fire. She said it was important to have a balance of all of them.
Later on, we caught some of the horses and practiced tying knots for tying up the horses. That was cool. Then we led them all around in a circle, and then trotted them for awhile until the humans got tired!
